Frequently Asked Questions...

We're here to answer all your questions about our services, if you would like to chat more with us about how this works, please send us your questions through our contact form and we will get back to you right away!

  • Am I a good candidate?
The best candidates are those people who are living a healthy lifestyle and are within about 15 lbs. of their goal weight. If this is not you, don’t worry! The benefits of body contouring extend to people with excess fat however will require more treatments. There are certain medical conditions that would not permit you to have these procedures done. These include but are not limited to: pregnancy, breastfeeding, epilepsy, have cancer or are in treatment for cancer, have excessively dry skin, has a hernia in the treatment area, have not fully recovered from a surgical procedure, have a pacemaker (for cavitation), thrombosis and phlebitis, or have recently had Botox or fillers in the treatment area.
  • How Many Treatments Will I Need?
This varies from person to person as there are many factors that will affect your results. For some people, 1 will be all they need and for others it could be anywhere from 3-8. Your diet, activity level, age and water intake goes hand in hand with how many treatments you will require.
  • Does It Hurt?
No! These procedures are non invasive and there is zero downtime. Most people would describe the treatments as relaxing. The suction from the vacuum therapy can at times feel like a bit of a “pulling” sensation but should never be painful. Although skin tightening and fat reduction treatments are considered low-risk, some side effects can include: redness, bruising, swelling, burns, inflammation, skin sensitivity, diarrhea and headaches. These are typically rare. Communication throughout the treatment is key. If at anytime something feels uncomfortable let us know right away!
  • Is It Permanent?
Body contouring is just as permanent as losing weight. If you gain weight between or after completing treatments, you will essentially be inflating the fat cells that we shrunk and undo the work. Although very effective, it is not a substitution for living a healthy and active lifestyle. Things you can do to get the most out of your treatments are drinking lots of water, avoiding alcohol and caffeine as they will increase water retention, mild to moderate exercise including but not limited to walking and lifting weights, and reducing stress (easier said than done). Immediately following each treatment, it is strongly urged to complete wither 20-30 min of intense exercise (enough to make you sweat) or spend 20 minutes in an infrared sauna. Since the procedures essentially will shrink the fat cells, they need to be drained through your lymphatic system. The best way to do this is by sweating and urinating (in comes the large amount of water you will need to drink before AND after your appointment).
  • How is this different than at-home treatments?
Our machines are all meant for professional use and will have different levels of output than machines that you can purchase for at-home use. We are trained and certified to use our machines by certified educators.
  • Before Your Treatment
Please avoid alcohol and caffeine (if you can, your body will thank you!) for 48 hours prior to your treatment. These are known diuretics and will cause dehydration which will make it harder for you to excrete the fat cells we have shrunk thus making your results less visible. We strongly recommend drinking at least 4L of water before your appointment or in the 12 hours leading up to it. The more hydrated you are, the better your results will be. This will get your systems moving and allow for an easy passage for the fat cells to drain through your lymphatic system. Please also make sure that you have read the section on if you are a candidate. If you have any open wounds or sunburns in the treatment area, you will need to wait until these are healed to proceed with your treatments.
  • Aftercare
Immediately following your treatment, we strongly encourage at least 20-30 minutes of intense exercise (enough to make you sweat) or 20 minutes in our infrared sauna. You should also make sure to continue to drink plenty of water in the days following your treatment. This will allow for the fat cells we have shrunk to continue to be excreted through your lymphatic system. Remember you are what you eat, if you are eating junk food after and between treatments you will inflate the fat cells that we have shrunk and this will affect your overall results. We recommend no less than 72 hours between treatments to allow for your body to continue this process.
